Review Process

If you have opted out of self-review, the PC will be handling the review process for you, and an email will be sent to all your authors and organizers regarding the status of each paper (accepted/rejected) on or after May 15, 2006.

If you have chosen the self-review option, please read the following instructions carefully, and contact the SS Chair for any clarifications.

Using the SMC 2007 Paper Management System for your Review (Relevant to SS Organizers Only)

1. Login to the SMC 2007 paper management system using your credentials.
2. By now, you need to have created author accounts and reviewer accounts for your SS.
3. To view all accounts created by you click on 'Users'
4. To create a new account for a reviewer for your SS, click on 'Add New User'. Enter the reviewer's name and email on this form. An email is sent to the reviewer with his login credentials.
5. On the left hand menu, you will see SS Reviews.
6. Click on SS Reviews to be redirected to the review management main page.
7. To auto assign reviewers, click the Assign Reviewers Button. Please note that reviewers will be auto assigned only if their 'area of interest' entered on their profile matches that of their profile. 8. The list of reviewers assigned, can now be seen on the SS Reviews page.
9. To manually assign reviewers, click the Manage Reviewers button corresponding to the paper you wish to assign reviewers to. This takes you to the Manage Reviewers Page. where you can select reviewers from the left hand side and move it to the right side using the arrows. Click Save to save your changes
10. Once you are satisfied with your assignment, start the review process and send emails to the reviewers about the papers being assigned by clicking the Open Review Process button. This can be done on an on-going basis. Please note that reviewers cannot access the papers till you explicitly start the review process.
11. You can view reviews by clicking on the View Reviews button

1. How do I submit a Special Session (SS) proposal?
To submit a SS proposal for SMC 2007, please fill up the proposal submission form and submit it to the SMC 2007 SS Management System. You will receive an email from us to confirm that your proposal has been submitted successfully within 24 hours.

2. How do I create an Organizer Account for SS Management?
The SS Proposal form collects all the required information under the 'Contact Organizer' section to create an account. Only one Organizer account can be created per proposal submitted.

3. I just submitted my SS proposal, but am unable to login to the SS management system?
Please use the same email address you entered for the Contact Organizer in the SS Proposal form If it does not work, and you have not received a confirmation email within 24 hours, chances are that the email address you entered in the form has a spelling mistake. Please for immediate assistance.

3. Can I view/modify my proposal once it it submitted?
Yes, you can login to the the SS Management System using the email and password you entered in the proposal submission form.

4. How will I know if my proposal has been accepted?
The SS chair will carefully examine all proposals, and select the most appropriate ones. All organizers will be sent a mail informing them about the acceptance/rejection of their proposal.

5. I am the contact author for one of the papers in an accepted SS. How do I upload my paper?
The organizer of your session will need to create an account for you in the SS Management System. Once your account has been created, an email will be sent to you with your credentials. Please use these credentials to login to the SS Paper Management System to upload your paper. Please note that your paper will NOT BE ACCEPTED for the SS if you create your own account.

6. How should SS organizer create login accounts of their SS authors uploading their papers?
(1) SS orgnizers login to their account
(2) enter Users page in the left menu,
(3) choose "SS Author" in the "Select Type Of User" pull-down menu,
(4) click "Add New SS Author,"
(5) input author information in the page, and
(6) click the "Create Account" button.

7. I am an SS Organizer trying to create an account for one of my authors. The system tells me that the account already exists. What should I do?
On creation of an account for an SS Author, if the system tells you the account already exists, it means that this author already has access to the Paper Management System, and has credentials to login. In order for us to give you access to manage their account, please email support@eidosglobal.com with the email of the author you are trying to add to your SS. We will give you access to manage this account on a need-to basis.
