Acceptance of Special Session & Paper Submission
The Special Session (SS) Chair will check the scopes of proposed SS's and send
preliminary notification of acceptance or rejection to their organizers in
February. Each paper of approved special sessions will be registered in the
SMC2007 paper submission system. For approved SS’s, authors of papers in the SS
should upload their papers to the paper submission system using designated
accounts by March 16, 2007.
Please note that accepted SS organizers will need to create upload
accounts for authors in their own SS. Authors should not create their own
accounts but use the accounts created by the SS organizers. An email will be
sent to notify the authors once their account has been created.
Review Process
SS organizers must choose one of two reviewing options noted in the SS proposal
form:
(1) Self-reviewing option where SS organizers find referees, manage their
reviewing using the SMC2007 reviewing management system and associated
reviewing policy, and, in particular, ensure that paper reviews are completed
by May 15, 2007, or
(2) SMC 2007 Program Committee (PC) reviewing option where SS organizers ask
the PC to review their collected papers (suggested names and e-mails from the
SS organizers of referees who have agreed to review the SS papers are strongly
recommended) and decisions will be made by the PC.
Note:
If you have selected the 'self review' option (1), please refer to the
SS Help page for more information.
Final Special Session Composition
The PC Chair will send final acceptance/rejection notifications to all authors
of SS papers by May 15, 2007. The typical paper presentation
block during SMC 2007 will be 5 oral paper presentations. Each SS will
potentially consist of multiple presentation blocks. If the number of papers in
a single SS presentation block has less than 5 accepted papers, the SS Chair
may make adjustments by rearranging presentation(s) of papers related to the SS
to and from the main conference. We ask that the SS organizers help accommodate
such changes during the conference.
Finally, special session organizers are expected to ensure that all
camera-ready versions are submitted by July 14, 2007 to ensure
their papers are published in the IEEE SMC 2007 proceedings as well as make
special effort to avoid no-shows at SMC2007.
Please refer to our list of frequently asked questions
for additional information. Should you have any other questions on organizing
SMC2007 Special Sessions, please contact the Special Session Chair,
